BLACK BELT GRADING

Central Taekwondo Academy hosted the United Taekwondo Association Black Belt Grading at Carronshore Community Centre on Saturday 15th October 2016.


The grading was conducted by Grandmaster Tong Wan Shin 9th Dan of the World Taekwondo Federation.
It was the biggest and most successful grading in Central’s 23 year history. There were 18 members of the club tested for black belt and dan promotion and all 18 passed!

Angie Bailey, who was at the club’s first training session back in 1993, was promoted to 5th Dan Master. Nicky Scott received her 3rd Dan and five members were promoted to 2nd Dan - Raymond Thom, Sandy Robertson, Ciaran Mein, Sarah Smullen and Natasha Wilson, who is just back from representing the UK at the World Poomsae Championships in Peru.

Eleven members of the club were successfully promoted to black belt. The new black belts are - Lewis Gray, Kara McLaren, Alicia Thom, Danika Scott, Caitlin Smith, Anas Turki, William Miller, Kasia Erm, Euan Burns, Dean Johnstone and Lynsey Burke.
