Teigan Smith has been selected to represent Great Britain at the Junior World Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria from 4th to 7th August 2022.
Back in 2018 big sister Jordyn became Junior World Champion and subsequently went on to spend four years on the Olympic Programme at the National Taekwondo Academy in Manchester.
Teigan is currently on the GB Development Programme and trains regularly with the Development Squad in Manchester.
Both Teigan and Jordyn have been members of Central Taekwondo Academy since a very young age.
This is a fantastic opportunity for Teigan.
She has worked very hard under the guidance of her dad. She always trains hard and focuses on her goals and deserves this chance to compete at the highest level.
It is an exciting time for Central Academy, with Max Cartwright’s recent selection for the Cadet World Championships, and now Teigan going to the Junior Worlds, there is a real buzz around the club.
Max and Teigan are great role models to our younger members, showing what can be achieved through hard work and dedication.
