A fantastic weekend for Central Academy at the Lanarkshire Open Championships, held at Wishaw Sports Centre over the weekend of 4th & 5th Feb 2023.
Every single Central player came away with a medal and on the Saturday at the Poomsae event the team won the overall 1st Place Team Trophy.
A big thank you and massive congratulations goes out to all the players, coaches, officials, volunteers and supporters.
Caitlin Ross became Central’s first ever Para Poomsae player and took gold in the P20 Under 17F category.
Khawlah Nazeerkhan had an outstanding weekend. In poomsae (patterns) she won individual, teams and pairs Gold. Then on Sunday won her 4th Gold in her first kyorugi (sparring) competition.
Archie MacLaren was another star of the kyorugi team, having two very exciting closely contested matches to win Gold in his first ever competition.
