Jordyn Smith added a World Bronze to her European Gold at the World Cadet Championships in Korea. It has been a fantastic year for Jordyn and she has established herself as one of the best players in the world!
Convincing wins against Australia and Mexico saw Jordyn reach the semi-finals where she came up against Iran. Iran proved to be the strongest nation at the tournament and Jordyn had to settle for Bronze. She achieved one of only two medals for Great Britain and now looks forward to moving up to the junior ranks, where we are sure she prove to be just as successful.
Lauren McKinlay also had a really good championship. Having only been competing for just over a year, this was her second major tournament! As with the recent cadet Europeans Lauren just missed out on a medal after going out in the quarter finals. After getting a bye to round 2 she put in a fantastic performance to see off the player from the USA. In the quarters against Germany she was leading mid way thru the 2nd round but eventually went down on points.
Well done girls. We are all really proud of you.
