The British Taekwondo Championships were held last weekend (12th & 13th Sept) in Sportcity, Manchester. There were 662 competitors from 76 UK taekwondo clubs. Central Taekwondo Academy achieved it’s best ever placing - winning the 3rd place team trophy!!

Every member of the 13 strong team came away with a medal, including 6 golds, 2 silvers and 6 bronze.

The star of the competition was Hassan Haider. Hassan won the -48kg Junior Male division and then went on to take gold in the Senior Male -54kg category. To take a senior British title a year before the 2016 Rio Olympics really puts Hassan in the frame as a future prospect. Hassan is now preparing to represent the UK at the Junior European Championships in Latvia next month.
